A figure imagined long before it was made. Titan draws from early encounters with myth. Stories of gods, giants, and ancient forces shaped from the earth itself. A being not separate from the landscape, but formed by it. A presence of heat, weight, and time. Here, that idea takes form as a face emerging through volcanic crust. Beneath the surface, molten colour moves through the structure, held in place but never still. The outer layer fractures and hardens, like cooled rock over something that continues to burn underneath. The piece is built from wood, painted in acrylic to establish the molten base, then sealed with epoxy to deepen and intensify the glow. A final layer of textured paper mâché forms the crust, giving the surface its fractured, volcanic skin.
